In recent years, there have been a lot of party-hopping cases among Members of Parliament (MP) and state assemblymen (ADUN) in Malaysia. Therefore, the majority of Malaysian voters have felt tired of political instability brought by elected representatives changing allegiance regularly for the sake of obtaining their benefits without considering the welfare of their voters and the country. As a result, it is undeniable that the call for legislation anti-party hopping law was becoming a heated topic and discussion in Malaysia.
